1. Banged hand on wooden bench
2. Tested home-made mosquito repellant. It didn't work.
3. Sat on ground while helping neighbor install do-it-yourself sprinkler system. Tip: white terry-cloth shorts + sitting on wet, dirty ground = embarrassingly-placed stains.

What was the homemade insect repellant??
It was vanilla extract and water (1 part vanilla extract to 2 parts water). It was supposed to work, dagnabit. I read about it online. I know one isn't supposed to believe everything one reads online, but still. Maybe I just didn't put enough on. I'm going to try it again.
